Questions Customers Often Ask Before Requesting a Quote

Select any question below to read the answer.

Yes. You do not need to know the trade language or have the whole job worked out before making contact. Many customers start with an idea, a problem area or a rough plan. Martin can talk through what you are hoping to achieve and help work out the practical next step.

No. Photos can be helpful, but they are not a barrier to making contact. You are welcome to call or message Martin first, and he can talk you through what would be useful. The first step can simply be a conversation.

Start with whatever you have. Helpful details include your name, phone number, email address, suburb or general job location, what you would like done and your preferred timing.

Photos, plans, drawings or measurements are helpful if available, but they are not required to begin the conversation.

For many jobs, Martin generally prefers a site visit where it is practical. A site visit helps him understand your vision, check access, take measurements, look at site conditions and gather the details needed for a more accurate quote.

Some simpler jobs can start with photos and a phone discussion, but a site visit is often the best way to make sure everyone is on the same page.

Like most trade businesses, ASR Contracting can be busy, but Martin is always keen to help where timing is important. The earlier you make contact, the better Martin can respond to your preferred timeline and talk through what may be possible.

If the work is time-sensitive, mention this early in the conversation.

Yes. No job is too small to at least have a conversation about. Your vision is important, and Martin is happy to talk through what you are trying to achieve. From there, he can advise whether ASR Contracting is the right fit for the work.

Yes. ASR Contracting can assist with many tight-access jobs, depending on the site conditions and the machinery required.

As a general guide, the excavator and Dingo need approximately 1.2 metres of access, and the Bobcat needs approximately 1.5 metres of access. Martin can confirm what is suitable once he understands the access path and work area.

Yes. ASR Contracting can assist with soil removal, material movement, site clean-ups and waste removal where suitable.

ASR Contracting has a tipping truck, which can be useful for tight-access jobs and staged removal. In some situations, this can reduce the need for a bulk bin sitting on a driveway, verge or road.

The client or property owner is generally responsible for arranging any permits or approvals that may be required for the property or project.

The client is also responsible for identifying underground services such as power, water, gas, NBN, sewer, drainage and reticulation before work begins. If you are unsure, discuss this with Martin early so it can be considered before work starts.

Once contact is made, Martin will respond by phone or message to discuss your project. From there, ASR Contracting works with you to develop a practical process for moving forward.

The aim is to understand your vision, answer your questions and help bring the project forward in a clear and manageable way.

Still have a question not covered above? Martin is happy to talk it through.
